waiting on wednesday - carry on

Hi, guys! It's time for another Waiting on Wednesday, and this is one that I'm extremely excited for. Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This week's can't-wait pick is...

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
384 pages
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffith
Publication date: October 6, 2015

From Goodreads:

Rainbow Rowell continues to break boundaries with Carry On, an epic fantasy following the triumphs and heartaches of Simon and Baz from her beloved bestseller Fangirl.
Simon Snow just wants to relax and savor his last year at the Watford School of Magicks, but no one will let him. His girlfriend broke up with him, his best friend is a pest, and his mentor keeps trying to hide him away in the mountains where maybe he’ll be safe. Simon can’t even enjoy the fact that his roommate and longtime nemesis is missing, because he can’t stop worrying about the evil git. Plus there are ghosts. And vampires. And actual evil things trying to shut Simon down. When you’re the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you never get to relax and savor anything.
Carry On is a ghost story, a love story, a mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you’d expect from a Rainbow Rowell story — but far, far more monsters.

Why I'm Waiting:

I feel like for anyone who read Fangirl, this one's a complete no-brainer. I mean, it's Cath's story. IT'S CATH'S STORY. THAT WE READ IN LITTLE SNIPPETS AND NOW WE GET THE FULL THING. I totally realize that this is old news but oh my god you better believe I'm re-reading Fangirl the night before this comes out. SO EXCITE.

Are you guys as excited for Carry On as I am? What other releases are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments!

  2. I haven't read Fangirl yet, but plan to. Meanwhile, you will hopefully enjoy the sequel to the last page, since you were such a fan of Cath. ^^

  5. YES! I used CARRY ON for my WoW a little while back, too. I love Rainbow Rowell. I own and have read 3 of her 4 books, so I'm dying for this one. Great pick!
