Do you ever pick up a book and start reading it, just to lose interest in favour of another story? It's not that they're bad books, it's just that something else caught your attention. Or maybe this just happens to me and I have the attention span of a 2-year-old.
In any case, I've found that there's quite a lot of books I've abandoned. Maybe I lost interest in reading for a while. Maybe I bought a new book and just had to read it right away. I'm going to try and make a point of finishing these books by the end of the summer, at least.
Cinder by Marissa Meyer - I love the concept of this book. Absolutely love it. I think I got about 20 pages in and thought the MC was a robot or something, so I stopped. But I've been assured that she's not (spoiler alert?) so I'm going to try and read it again soon.
Going Bovine by Libba Bray - I started reading it last summer when I was bored at camp and kind of just stopped after I got home and actually had stuff to do.
Love Story by Jennifer Echols - I couldn't even tell you why I stopped reading this. Maybe I got too busy with school or something lame like that. But I really liked what I read of it!
The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg - I got this on sale for like $5 and felt obligated to read it right away because of the pretty cover, but I'm pretty sure I fell asleep and forgot about it? But I've heard good things, so I'll start over.
Gone by Michael Grant - I really want to restart this book because I've heard it's so good, but I have such a hard time getting into stories about people that are so much younger than me. I think these MCs are 12 or 13, and the age gap is just a bit too much for me. But I'll hopefully try it again.
Jane by April Lidner - I love modern retellings so obviously I went for this one. I don't remember why I put this book down, but definitely will be picking it back up soon!
Impossible by Nancy Werlin - I don't remember a thing about this book. I don't even remember buying it. I want to read it just for the sake of clearing my tbr shelf a little bit, but I'm not 100% sure.
Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver - I loved Delirium so much! I don't know why I stopped reading the second book, but I just bought the final book of the trilogy so I pretty much have to finish it now, right?
Let me know what you think of these books, and what one I should tackle first!
I abandoned Cinder too!!! I thought I wouldn't like the idea that she was a cyborg, but that didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I abandoned it for other reasons, but I really hope you give it another chance and that it works for you the second time around. :)
